Not recommended in version 3.0.0 because:
Problems with version 3.0.0 and general missing features:
Problems:
- i tested chat here: https://kainex.pl/projects/wp-plugins/wise-chat/wise-chat-demo/
- on mobile view and ist shows the channels and settings icon and the channel name which are distracting.
Missing features:
- scroll on new message received and sent, focus on the latest message like on WhatsApp.
- on new message visually show new message and give notification in browser title, …
Solution for the Problem use the version below until improved: https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/wise-chat.2.9.7.zip
If your chat is not working: Switch to the default engine in chat's Advanced settings (not recommended by the author, i like it, but use more hardware sources). Most probably this is why the chat is not working.
Recommendation Use Simple Ajax Chat (Only one chat per site)
New video when plugin is updated.
Key features
- Multiple chat channels (one or multiple chats per webinar)
- Default styles available (No need to style the chat)
- Free and open source version (recommended) as well as paid version available (to much features to disable, to have a simple chat)
- The name of the registered attendee used as the chat users name
Below you can copy & paste the modified shortcode to show the chat.
Default shortcode is [wise-chat channel="any-name"]
Q&A
How to add a new chat channel (for multiple chats)?
Add shortcode with a new channel="any-name" to any page (also the webinar room), submit a massage and a new channel is created.
Documentation especially about the shortcode:
https://kaine.pl/projects/wp-plugins/wise-chat/documentation/shortcode/
Ideas when and where to show the Chat(s):
Time based:
- inside the CTA (Call-to-Actions)
- in video overlay
- or in sidebar tab
- Permanent in sidebar tab via modern webinar tabs
